FAQ
Your Container Storage Questions Answered
Choosing the right container solution for your home or business involves understanding your options and possibilities. Whether you're storing equipment during a renovation, securing tools on a job site, or creating a custom workspace, we've compiled answers to the most common questions our customers ask.
What sizes of containers are available for residential and commercial use?
CLYC Services offers multiple container sizes to fit different storage needs. For residential customers, 10-foot containers work well for small yards and limited storage needs like garden tools or seasonal items.
The 20-foot standard container is our most popular residential option, providing enough space for furniture during renovations, moving boxes, or workshop equipment with interior dimensions of 19'9" L × 7'8" W × 7'10" H.
For larger homes or commercial projects, 40-foot standard containers and 40-foot high cube containers offer more space and extra height for shelving systems. We also offer 48-foot and 53-foot trailers.
How much does it cost to rent or buy a container in New Brunswick and Eastern Quebec?
Container costs vary based on size, condition (new or used), rental duration, and delivery location across the Maritimes and Eastern Quebec. Rental prices typically start lower for short-term needs like home renovations or temporary job site storage.
Purchase prices depend on whether you choose a used container or a new one-trip container with 25- to 40-year lifespans. Contact us directly for accurate quotes based on your specific location and situation.
Can containers be customized with windows, doors, insulation, or electrical?
Yes, CLYC Services provides customization options to transform standard containers into functional workspaces, offices, workshops, or specialized storage. Popular modifications include adding insulation for temperature control, installing windows for natural light, and incorporating electrical systems for lighting and power.
Customers commonly customize containers for home offices, woodworking workshops, retail pop-up shops, construction site offices, and agricultural storage with shelving systems and HVAC options. Whether you need a simple storage container with extra access points or a fully finished mobile office, our team works with you.
How long does delivery take, and what areas do you serve?
CLYC Services delivers containers throughout New Brunswick and Eastern Quebec, with rental services focused on the Maritimes and Eastern Quebec regions, while container sales are available across Canada. In New Brunswick, we serve Val-d'Amour, Miramichi, Bathurst, Tracadie-Sheila, and surrounding communities.
In Quebec, we deliver to Carleton-sur-Mer, Chandler, Paspébiac, and throughout the region. Delivery timeframes depend on container availability, your location, and whether you need a standard unit or custom modifications. Standard containers typically can be delivered within days to a week for local areas.
What's the difference between new and used containers?
New containers, often called one-trip containers, have typically made just one overseas journey and show minimal wear and tear. These units offer 25- to 40-year lifespans with excellent structural integrity, are watertight, and ideal for long-term investments or custom modification projects.
Used containers have been in service longer but are still structurally sound, weather-resistant, and secure. CLYC Services inspects all used inventory to ensure they meet quality standards for protecting your belongings from Canadian weather conditions. Used containers offer cost savings for budget-conscious homeowners or temporary job site storage.
